Group Statement:
The motivation behind this shows stems from a desire to create space in our current practice for the unknown, bizarre and experimental. As contemporary ceramic artists in Victoria, we feel it is important to have not only our functional, but also our experimental work showcased. We would like to increase visibility and community engagement with the dynamic and multifaceted faces of ceramic arts.
Clay is infinitely malleable, as are the techniques of working with it, and the possible outcomes - we want to move away from the wheel as a tool and the constrictions of function to explore new techniques and forms.
